CREATE AN IMPACT ON AND OFF THE BOARD

Our spring program will combine our love for skateboarding and our love for getting hands-on and creative to create an impact. Through group creative sessions, we will touch on themes like breaking stereotypes, taking up space and speaking out on topics that matter to us in an authentic way.

SKATE

We’re stoked to get more girls skateboarding and, in the process, boost their resilience and confidence. Creating a space where, when we fall, we can lift each other up, high five, and get back on the board!

Skateboarding is for everyone!

This course is specifically designed for beginner to intermediate skaters. Through a combination of technique, games and challenges, it’s our goal to make sure everyone gets the most out of the skate skill sessions based on their personal goals and ability.*

CREATE

We are empowering our girls to see how individual action can be part of a solution by giving them a unique platform to speak out, break stereotypes, and create an impact!

This past summer we created skate zines, and in autumn 2020 we made the How To Be A Roll Model video.
This season, we will be working alongside inspiring women in the creative industry to give our girls a space for their voices to be heard. We’ll discuss topics such as being a young girl in skating (with a special guest) and creating inclusive communities.

MEET YOUR COACHES

By giving girls access to positive female role models, we’ll empower them to recognise themselves as role models to others and leaders of the future.

Head Coach: Bea Gomez de Silva

Assistant Coach (Group 2): Eva Sierksma

Assistant Coach (Group 2): Hildrun Dreyer

The head coaches of these courses speak English, however, to ensure that all girls feel heard and comfortable, this course will be taught in both English and Dutch fluidly with the help of our other Dutch-speaking coaches. In our experience, language has never been a barrier when it comes to being fearless! Plus it's a great opportunity for girls to practise their language skills and learn from each other.

“I’m honestly so surprised I’m doing the ramps, like the big ramps! When I first came here I didn't think I was going to be able to accomplish much, but now I’m excited to try everything.”
