Project Fearless is a project-based learning space for any girl aged 9-14 to get hands-on, break stereotypes, find her voice and create an impact.
We will be hosting three different 8 week programs that will take place outside of school hours throughout the year in Amsterdam. This isn’t about simply killing time in an after-school club, all of our activities are based on outcomes, and our programs have been specifically designed to future-proof the interests, activities, passions and skills of our girls, giving them the tools and the confidence to discover who they are, and what they want to do with their lives.
1. MIND & BODY
Building confidence, strength and new abilities by encouraging girls to move their bodies, challenge themselves, take risks and learn by doing.
2. THE MAKER’S SPACE
Carpentry, woodwork, sewing and many more hands-on activities that allow girls to be creative, to try new things, get messy and feel empowered by picking up a power tool for the first time.
3. COMMUNITY & LEADERSHIP
Creating a connection between the community within our own walls and the greater Amsterdam area. We are driven by giving back, and we instill the value of this within our girls.
we will be a physical space
We are not an online resource or a classroom, we are a purpose-built space for girls to get fully hands-on, stuck in and get messy. We’re working hard to secure the perfect home for our fearless girls in the heart of Amsterdam, watch this space!
We are thinking BIG
This isn’t about simply teaching girls self-defence, or how to build or mend something. It’s about setting them up for their futures and allowing them to practice skills like bravery, adventure, risk-taking and community.
We are one-of-a-kind
We’re offering something that doesn’t currently exist anywhere in the Netherlands and bridging the gap between an educational and community space.
Project Fearless was founded by Mérida Miller after recognising there was an opportunity to create a space for girls in Amsterdam to learn new skills and discover who they are, on their own terms, not who they’re expected to be. Find out more about her journey and her BIG plans for the future.
