Fearless Guide: Inspired by Pride Amsterdam - Our Fearless Crew’s Most Commonly Asked Questions

At Project Fearless, we believe that there are a million ways to work towards a solution. That’s why we decided to start creating Project Fearless Guides to *insert topic here*, where we share some ideas and tips on how to combat challenging situations, work towards solutions, or make changes for good.

Inspired by Pride Amsterdam 🌈, we put together some answers to the topical questions most commonly asked by our Project Fearless crew — because we thought if they’re asking them, then you might be too! We covered self-identification, pronouns, supporting friends who’ve come out, transitioning, how to be an ally to transgender and non-binary people we know, how our sexual orientation can develop and change, and finding useful resources for LGBTQI++ youth.

There are lots of brilliant resources out there, so we’ve compiled this guide based on several of them, as well as questions and individual experiences from our crew.

It’s important to recognise that everyone’s experience is different, and we’ve worked to gather a range of information and resources here — although we are not the authority on these topics! As always, we’re open to any feedback and keen to keep learning 🙂

Q: What do all the letters in LGBTQIAP2S+ stand for?

*Continued*

P – Pansexual: Someone who is attracted to people of all genders: men, women, and nonbinary people.

2S – Two-Spirit: A cultural and spiritual identity for Indigenous people who embody both female and male spirits. Being two-spirit is more than a sexual orientation or gender identity, because of the concept’s deep cultural and spiritual roots.

+: The + represents all the other ways that people choose to self-identify, because it’s impossible to condense every individual’s experience into an acronym!
