Ready, steady, sew: Let’s remake fashion as a force for good!
About The Program
The group will work on their own sustainable, upcycled design. Starting with mood, colour and textile inspiration boards, we’ll decide on a design route, then sketch and plan the final garment. We’ll focus on mindful creating, getting rid of perfectionist mindsets and jumping straight into reimagining what fashion could be.
The group will be guided by role model Coaches who work in the circular and sustainable fashion industry, getting stuck into hands-on design and sewing challenges. No previous experience needed!
We’ll end the season with a public exhibition workshop to showcase their hard work and the Fearless Atelier.
Over the 8 weeks, the kids will:
+Learn the basics of sewing on a machine — this course is great for anyone, even if you’ve never used a sewing machine before
+Learn the basics of design, from mood boards to developing a sewing/making plan
+Learn about fearless and innovative pioneers in the sustainable and circular fashion industry
+Work through design sprints to shake away perfectionist thoughts, while gaining confidence and a fearless perspective when it comes to sewing/creating for good
+Design and create an upcycled garment!
