DESIGN FOR IMPACT
We’re driven by giving back and we instill that value within our girls. We want to equip girls with the tools, thinking and skills to give back in a way that creates real change.
Working alongside Road of Hope, a non-profit organisation that supports refugees in their journey to integration, we’ll inspire girls to understand and ideate around problems their community is facing.
We’ll teach girls to use human-centric design to create a positive solution that can be implemented in a real way by the end of the course.
Over 8 weeks, girls will…
Learn to observe, interact and connect with members of the Road of Hope community and the issues they’re facing as they integrate into Dutch culture.
Develop soft skills - from empathy, active listening to critical thinking, resilience and respect.
Practice hard skills - such as interviewing, analysing data and project management.
Experience peer feedback, brainstorming and pitching to an audience of her peers.
Leave us confident of the impact she is capable of.
The goal of this foundation course is to create a connection between the community within our own walls and the greater Amsterdam area. Whilst teaching girls tangible skills they can take forward in life and showing them the potential of their own problem-solving.
At the end of the course, the girls will present their findings and solution to Road of Hope and the greater community.
